Chris Taylor is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is involved in many aspects of the Art World, both creatively and administratively. Past President of South Bay Art Association of Bellport, a 50+ year old organization devoted to furthering interest in the fine arts, and former co-owner of the Phoenix Fine Arts Gallery, also of Bellport, Chris is involved in art administration at many levels. She also served as studio/personal assistant to the late Irving Boker, known for his portraits,landscapes and sculptures which are in national and international collections, and especially for his oil painting of our flag, entitled “U.S.A.”
Chris is accomplished in watercolor, oil, pastel, and stone sculpture, but her current medium of choice is Batik, an ancient art form that is moving into the modern world though new technologies and techniques. She has lectured on Batik and given several demos to various art organizations locally. Recently she has written a series of casual articles on art for Bellport.com
